Making Slime with the Primary Children
On Saturday 11 May, we held a Slime Making session for the LEAPing group (children between the ages of 5 and 11).
It was a great turnout with 30 children attending (slime is a very popular activity by the looks of it!) everyone had a lot of fun making the various types of slime, catching up with their friends, and making some new ones.
It was a workshop led by Tilly Pots, who have ran several workshops for us before, and have always been a big hit with the children.
These sessions are a great opportunity for the primary children to gain confidence in a safe environment, without their parents/carers, to help develop their spoken language, but most importantly to meet other children who share the same life experiences as them.
While the children finished off making their slime, their parents attended our regular parent group, led by Clare Allen, Speech and Language Therapist, who feeds back about what the children learnt during the session, and gives tips on how it can be implemented at home or school.
