Activities and Resources
The Ear Foundation's Family Programme provides activities for children, young adults with a hearing loss and their families providing opportunites to get together, and learn about hearing technologies throughout the year.
There are a wide range of activities which should appeal to the whole age range, including adults and teenagers.
Please click below on the age range you are interested in, within each age group we have recommended some resources that you can use with your child at home:
Stay and Play (Ages 0-2 years old)
NEW fun sessions with your baby and toddler, where you will have the chance to play, meet other families and develop your child's listening.
Ready Steady Go (Ages 2 - 5 years old)
Interactive sessions for you and your pre-schooler around communication, music and listening skills.
LEAPing (Ages 5 to 11 years old)
Based on the LEAPing on with Language curriculum, these sessions are run by Specialist Speech and Language Therapists, aimed to accelerate your child's spoken language learning.
LEAPing on with Language (Resource and Training Package)
In collaboration with Cochlear Europe we have produced a great resource for parents and classroom teachers. This resource provides practical strategies to accelerate your child's spoken language learning.
Teenz (Ages 11 to 18 years old)
Fun sessions, with activities being on and off site led by a team of Speech and Language Therapists. The focus is upon young people growing in their 'social smarts' and resilence, while emphasising making friends and developing social independence.
We run two residentials every year for the young people:
Young Adults (Ages 18 to 25 years old)
Based around volunteering opportunities with specific training provided. It's a lot of fun and a lot of learning, and looks great on your personal statements and CVs.
