“Remember that every good friend was once a stranger”
We can all recall the positive feelings we get from being in a group of people who make us laugh, listen to our troubles and help solve life problems. Whether we are 4 or 44 years old we need the skills to know how to turn acquaintances into friends. These building blocks, being part of a group plan, managing our own emotions and recognizing social expectations need a firm early foundation. For most children it is a natural process. But is this always true for our children with hearing loss? Research would suggest not. This course will be looking at a hands on, practical approach for growing social competence and learning how to take other people’s perspectives.
Join us as we explore the Social Thinking, We Thinkers! Programme, its concepts and vocabulary to apply with the pre-schoolers you support.
