About the group
The group is an informal gathering who are looking for positive input to find effective ways to manage their Tinnitus.
There is the opportunity to meet and chat with others and where possible we do our best to arrange speakers of interest to come along and offer the group up to date information on topics of interest such as: research, technology, tips and strategies and local provision.
There is no charge to attend but we do appreciate donations to help us cover the costs of refreshments.

Hearing, Balance and Tinnitus
Do you have difficulty hearing friends and family? Do you have tinnitus? Do you have dizzy spells or poor balance? We can help whatever your combination of hearing, balance and tinnitus needs.
Tinnitus and hyperacusis service
Tinnitus is very common, affecting different people in different ways; we are here to provide you with the help and support you need to effectively manage your tinnitus. While there is no ‘cure’ for tinnitus there are plenty of proven methods of management that do significantly help in our experience. It is important to know that most tinnitus settles down and becomes more manageable over time. The key is to get the correct information and help from our tinnitus specialists as soon as possible. We also provide help and support for patients with hyperacusis (sensitivity to loud sounds). We will spend time exploring your needs before selecting the best combination of therapies, advice and information for you.
"I found the tinnitus and balance service very helpful as they fully explained what tinnitus is all about which helped me tremendously to accept the tinnitus. They also suggested tips on how to manage the tinnitus which I found useful and helpful. It hasn't taken the tinnitus away but it has made it more manageable and life bearable." Anna Gladwin
We can assess your balance giving consideration to your wider health needs. Positional Vertigo (BPPV) can be treated, where appropriate, by performing particle repositioning manoeuvres. Where onward referral to a consultant is indicated, we can give advice on how best to manage your dizziness and imbalance as you wait for your appointment. With a medical referral we can provide a full range of therapies including balance retraining exercises and relaxation techniques.
After assessing your hearing and exploring your communication needs, we can provide and fit private hearing aids and assistive listening devices as indicated. We also offer advice and information on hearing tactics and provide people with swim moulds and hearing protection as required.
