[Chear - Children's Hearing Evaluation and Amplification Reso]

Chear was set up in 2001 as an independent centre for children's hearing assessment and management of hearing impairment. Josephine Marriage also works in research with adult hearing aid wearers, so a service has developed for adults with hearing loss.

[CHIC (Children's Hearing Impaired Charities)]

We have close links with this charity, as Peter Vinden is Trustee of both CHIC and The Ear Foundation. CHIC has been raising funds to help hearing impaired children since 1994.

[Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP)]

Approximately 900 babies are born every year in the UK with a permanent hearing loss. It's important to identify children with hearing loss as early in life as possible, and NHSP makes sure this happens for all newborn babies across the whole of England
