New Research Forum
Invitation to join the Ear Foundation Research Forum
As part of its work in supporting deaf adults, children and their families and in working with professionals, the Ear Foundation has, for many years, had a lively and topical research programme.
We are now setting up a research forum of people who would like to be involved in this activity.
We invite you to join this exciting new venture.
This forum will be very important for the research of the Ear Foundation as it will be able to contact people to be involved in research, either to influence the way particular research is developed and carried out, or to be involved in a project.
Questions
What would be involved?
If there is a project where your experience is relevant you would be contacted by the Ear Foundation and asked if you would like to help.
What sort of things might I be asked to do?
Among other things, to advise on topics to investigate, to comment on questions to be asked in an interview, to respond to a questionnaire.
How much time would be involved?
You would not be contacted very often and the amount of time you would commit would be agreed at the beginning, anything from a few minutes on the phone to a three hour interview, or even more.
Do I have to take part in a particular project?
No, the research would be described and you would decide whether or not you would be interested in taking part, it is entirely up to you whether you agree to be involved in a particular project.
Would my details be kept confidential?
Yes, completely and in no circumstances would any information that you give to join the forum be passed on to any other individual or group.
Will there be any payment?
No, you will not be paid for joining the forum, but you will receive a newsletter every three months, only available to Forum members, which will tell you about proposed and new projects and how p ongoing research is progressing.
We do hope you will agree to join us. This forum is very important to the Ear Foundation as it will help to make sure its research programme is relevant and useful, and will give easier access to people who can participate in projects.
