Suzanne Harrigan

Specialist Speech & Language Therapist: Pre-school Family services

Suzanne is proud of the fact that she was the first professional member of The Ear Foundation team, back in 2001, when she started running courses for parents and children. Since then, the family programme has gone from strength to strength, and Suzanne now focuses her energies on the area she loves the most; supporting families with very young deaf children to develop their communication skills through the preschool “Connect and Communicate” programme.

Suzanne also takes an active part in the educational programme and had developed a range of resources for families and professionals around early childhood deafness. She particularly enjoys working in partnership with others to promote good practice amongst professionals working with preschool deaf children.

She acts as a specialist advisor to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Special interests include:

• working with babies and toddlers

• working with children with complex needs

• Non professional counselling

• qualitative research methodology
