The Ear Foundation's Summer BBQ
Another fantastic day was had by all, at our Summer BBQ this year held on Saturday 5th July! We ordered the sunshine, and it came...just in time!
The weather hadn't been good in the week and it was a dismal start to the morning, with a fair bit of rain whilst Sue, Brian and friends set up the gazebos and stalls, but thankfully the sun shone at 3pm when the doors opened to the rest of The Ear Foundation's family and friends!
There was plenty for everyone to enjoy: there was the traditional tombola - for children and adults! Children's games such as: Treasure Hunt Map, Hook a Duck, Splat the Rat, The Football Game and of course the book stall, cake stall, as well as strawberries and cream, whilst everyone could enjoy the jazz band who entertained us all!
The BBQ was, naturally, one of the busiest stalls with a constant queue of people - our thanks go to Joe, Wayne, Keith & Janet for organising and running it so efficiently! The bouncy castle was, as always a hit! Even a short shower in the middle of the afternoon didn't prevent people from all over, coming and enjoying the fun. We were glad to see the weather hadn't deterred people from attending and there must have been up to 200 people in Sue & Brian's beautiful garden in Loughborough!
At 4.30pm, the winners of the Grand Leisure Draw were announced by Brian - we had some fabulous prizes - see below - thanks to all who donated and of course, all of you who bought and sold tickets!
As ever, we are enormously grateful to everyone who either volunteered their time to help on the day and/or donated prizes, and to the Arjomandkhah family for donating the burgers!
We are please to be able to tell you that we raised almost £1,000 on the day, which will be used towards the facilities and resources used at The Ear Foundation by parents and professionals alike.

GRAND LEISURE DRAW
The Ear Foundation's Chairman, John Atkins, and Chief Executive, Brian Archbold had the pleasure of drawing the winning tickets for the Grand Draw at the Summer BBQ.
We had received some fantastic prizes, which had either been donated by families, or, received from larger organsations, for which The Ear Foundation is most grateful. A full list of the prizes is detailed below, and all winners have been notified - Congratulations to you all!!
1st PRIZE: A week's accommodation in Costa Brava, Spain - won by Mrs Williams from Nottingham! Mrs Williams is the Great-Grandmother of 2 children with Cochlear Implants, so has passed the prize on to them, since she is nearly 97 years old!
