Connect & Communicate

Connect and Communicate is The Ear Foundation's Family Programme which enables parents and carers to learn alongside their deaf children. There are a wide range of activities which should appeal to the whole age range, including adults and teenagers:

  • Baby mornings: Sessions for parents and their babies around music, playing and communication.
  • Ready Steady Go groups: Sessions with you and your pre-schooler around communication, music and listening skills.

C&C

  • Special Branch: Music sessions for children with cochlear implants and additional & complex needs, and their families.
  • SPECIAL ISSUE DAYS: One-day events for parents, with fun activities for the children. Topics include:
    - Preparing for primary school
    - Preparing for secondary school
    - Managing behaviour
    - Leaping on with language (supporting your primary-aged child's language development)
    - Ready Steady Go (helping your pre-school child to listen and communicate)
  • Teenz United: Saturday sessions for deaf teenagers with cochlear implants.
  • Adult Days: Groups for adults with cochlear implants.
  • Sound Advice: Advice sessions with professionals focussing on your implanted child's needs and progress.
