Our European Friendship Week is an action packed week full of adventure, challenges and friendship building. But it's also so much more than just a holiday. We have a great week planned aimed to boost self-esteem and confidence in the young people, who are all wearing their cochlear implants to listen and talk, and all share a unique understanding of what it is like to be a deaf young person living in our modern world.
This will be our 7th European Friendship Week for young cochlear implant users aged between 11 and 16 years old arranged. It is hosted by The Ear Foundation and held at St John's School for the Deaf in Boston Spa, Yorkshire.
The week is staffed by members of The Ear Foundation staff, St John's School for the Deaf staff and a team of trained volunteers. This means that many of the team are very experienced in working with young deaf people.
Our residentials were awarded OUTSTANDING in all areas in 2016!
