The Auditory Speech Sound Evaluation (A§E ®) is a software package for the auditory evaluation of the hearing-impaired. It uses isolated speech sounds as test material for a discrimination, identification, and detection test. It is specifically suited to test preverbal children with no or very limited functional speech, but it can also be used for other persons with hearing problems. The A§E® is speech and language independent. All tests allow strict analytical interpretation.
One-day workshops with hands-on training are organized by the developers of the A§E® as an answer to the many requests from the field. The workshops are meant for audiologists, speech therapists and medical doctors with good audiological experience. Expertise in paediatric audiology is an advantage, but it is not a prerequisite.
